While raising 3 young children, Susan attended medical school and graduated from Des Moines
University. She attended her pediatric internship at Eastern
Carolina University in North Carolina, then her residency training at Arnold Palmer Women & Children’s
Hospital in Orlando, Florida.
Susan has been practicing pediatric medicine in the Midwest
since graduating residency in 2004. During the past 4 years, she has also been moonlighting as a pediatric
hospitalist, and in a pediatric emergency department.
She enjoys providing care to children of all
ages. Interests include caring for all children, regardless of
their state of health, and the nutrition and development from birth through
Keith Rubin is a lifelong Floridian. Keith was born
and raised in Hollywood, Florida along with his younger brother. His father remains in Hollywood where he works as
an ophthalmologist. Watching his Dad, as he grew up, was his inspiration for entering the field of medicine.
Keith majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry at Florida State University in Tallahassee. He
attended medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft Lauderdale. He
remained in Ft. Lauderdale at Broward General Medical Center for his Internship and Residency in Family
practice, with an emphasis on Internal medicine. His first position as a physician was in Pompano, Florida,
where he remained for the first four years of practice. He then wandered over to the beautiful gulf coast
where he has been since 2007. He lives with his wife Cindy in Punta Gorda. They are the proud parents of two
fur babies. They rescued Jake after he was hit by a car and they have little Marcy. Keith enjoys spending most
of his time outdoors. Walking with Cindy and the pups as well as cycling. Keith is also very accomplished
runner. He has survived several ultra runs! He is also very involved in Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte Relay
for Life. Keith enjoys getting to know his patients, and he specializes in preventative medicine and
adolescent medicine, skin procedures including biopsies and cryotherapy, and joint injections for arthritis or
other musculoskeletal conditions.
Christina Feola, ARNP
Christina was born in Hartford, Connecticut but was raised in Florida for most of her life. She attended dual
credit college courses during her senior year in high school and began college classes the same day she graduated
in 2005. In 2010, Christina graduated with her Bachelor's in Nursing from Florida Gulf Coast University. She then
began her career as a nurse on the surgical trauma unit at Lee Memorial Hospital.
In 2012, Christina was accepted in the Masters of Nursing program at the University of South Florida and she
graduated with honors in May of 2014. In the fall of 2014, Christina became a board certified Nurse
Practitioner. Her specialty is in Family Health. Interests include health prevention, health promotion, and health
maintenance for all ages, from newborns to the elderly.
Seeing your Physician
When you become a patient at Flagel Pediatric & Family Physicians, adults will primarily be
patients of Dr. Rubin and children will primarily be patients of Dr. Flagel. Both physicians care for children from newborn through young adulthood.
